Mason announced today that it has promoted Derek Beere to senior vice president. As senior vice president, Beere plays a critical role in agency management, strategic planning, developing client campaigns and managing their implementation. He also is instrumental in the recruiting and onboarding of new clients.
“This promotion recognizes Derek’s contributions and commitment to Mason. His outstanding client service and passion for his craft have benefited our clients and the firm,” said Mason President Fran Onofrio, APR, Fellow PRSA. “Derek’s promotion is timely as Mason looks to the future in terms of succession planning.”
Beere, who joined the agency in 2002 and assumed increasingly responsible positions most recently as vice president, will continue in his previous roles as director of public relations and managing the agency’s social media practice. Since joining Mason, Beere supported many award-winning client programs and campaigns, launched, and currently hosts Mason’s podcast UpFront. The monthly podcast features Connecticut’s most influential business and community leaders.
Beere graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in marketing. Derek is a past president of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA’s) Greater Connecticut Chapter and remains active on its board. Aside from the world of public relations, Beere’s independent record label Loot Recordings features electronic music artists from around the world.
